Mad Fingers McBride

Mad Finger's washboard rig from his time with the Genuine Jugband is prominent in many of Tony's loops and sounds. The zzZhugas, Zips and Tonks of his back to back stainless steel on teak custom washboard along with featured cowbells are a signature sound of the dynamic washboard player. The primary parts of his "Rig", of which did feature in Modern Drummer Kit of the Month back in Aug 14, are captured here in this sound pack. Future packs may include a wider scope of tones and voices from his washboard "rig".

74 creative 32 beat rhythms have been created using loops created by Tony himself, Kick, Snare, Hi-hat, Ride cymbal, Fills, and Washboard Rig are layered in his DAW to help create his fresh new sounds, a fusion of drumkit and washboard rig like no-one has ever heard before!

In addition, each set features a 4 beat loop of a featured sound corresponding to that numbered set. -either a one shot or a rhythm. So, 40 loops.

Altogether 114 loops, 960megs worth.

The drums used to record Tony's personal sound library are a set of Yamaha Maple Customs built in 1995, and are identifiable by the gold plated Noble and Cooley lugs. A warm fusion style kit, 8" X 10" seven ply rack tom, a 14" X 14" ten ply floor tom , and a 16" X 20" ten ply kick drum. All heads used were Evans G2 Clear model. The snare is a 5.5" X 14" seven ply shell with an Evans G1 Coated head. The true warmth of this kit has been captured for you to experience in multi dynamic ranges, from the soft sweep of a snare brush stroke to the wood splitting crack of a heavy little floor tom

All cymbals are Sabian, 13" fusion hi-hats, 16" and 18" Heavy Crashes a 10" Splash Cymbal, and a 1986 Custom ordered 22" Hand Hammered Ride in Brilliance finish offering the velvety crisp ping of crafted brass. The China is a 17" Wuhan, a trashy but much loved and respected effects cymbal among the highest end of drummers.

Microphones used to record these samples were an AKG C1000 condenser, a Sennheiser 441, an EV Egg for the kick, a Neuman, a Shure 57, a 58. On the washboard a decent drumkit set of Apex drumkit microphones, and a Beta '57.

All stereo 32 beat loops are formatted 24 Bit 96 K wav, and the mono loops are formatted 16 Bit 48 K wav.
